Education

is a top priority  here at Namebini.  Read below to learn about the variety of different educational ventures that you can become involved in with us.

Wilderness Medicine:  Namebini is proud to partner with the American Red Cross to offerWilderness Medicine Scenario certification in Wilderness And Remote First Aid.   This 16 hour course is for those who work, live or play in remote areas – away from the usual EMS service. This course gives you the skills you need to respond to an emergency when help may be delayed.  The topics Red Cross include assessment and urgent first aid techniques as well as wilderness specific treatments. Adult CPR/AED certification is required prior to taking this course. Wilderness and Remote First Aid certification can be issued that has an expiration of 2 years and serves as a Basic First Aid certification as well. A minimum age of 17 is recommended for participants due to the serious nature of the course and scenarios. Check out the Wilderness Medicine page for more information

Master Naturalist Training:  The Minnesota Master Naturalist Program is a volunteer program that teaches adults about Minnesota's natural resources and empowers them toMN Master Naturalist educate others and provides opportunities to do conservation projects. The University of Minnesota in partnership with the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources offer Master Naturalist Training.  Find out more about the Master Naturalist program and look for upcoming training opportunities that we're involved with at the MN Master Naturalist Web Site.

Environmental Education: Teacher and Educator Workshops: Providing both formal and non-formal educators with the tools and materials that they need to educate adults and youth about our natural resources and environment has always been a top priority for Carl & Cindy Haensel.  Currently, Carl partners with the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources to instruct workshops including Project WILD, WET, & Learning Tree.  Look for upcoming workshop opportunities at the DNR Web Site.

Guided Flyfishing: Interested in taking your flyfishing to the next level?  If you want to learn the finer points of fly casting, mending, and drifting, look no further. Explore the streams andNorth Shore Brook Trout rivers of Northern Minnesota and Wisconsin in search or brook, brown, and rainbow trout, as well as smallmouth bass, steelhead and more.  If you're interesting in learning the natural history of our trout streams from the bottom up, we enjoy instructing about local natural history, ecology, and geology.  Check out our Guided Flyfishing Page for more information.
